The Wawasee Yacht Club veteran crew on Tillman’s E-Scow gave way to a great sail from Rick Lemberg Jr.’s crew on the No. 200 E-Scow during the first race of the morning, but weathered a patchy wind on the Wawasee waters to hold off Bob Herdrich’s No. 47 crew for the second round win. Dave Irmscher’s No. 21 vessel was third in the first race and Robbie Quiesser’s No. 151 crossed third in the second race.
Tillman’s team are in first place in the gold fleet standings after the weekend, followed by Herdrich and Casey Call. Andy Allen’s team are currently leading the silver fleet standings, followed by the crews for the Dahm and Quiesser vessels.
The lightning fleets were also on the waters of the mighty Wawasee Sunday, with Bill Allen’s three-member crew claiming the first race, followed by crews featuring Jeff Schmahl and George Buckingham. In the second race, which provided the same wind problems given to the E-Scows, Stu Webster’s crew navigated the course to win followed by Buckingham and John Selby.
After the July 1 races, Schmahl’s crew lead the standings, followed by the Reiss/Miller team and Allen in third.
